Local Author donates to local African and Caribbean organisation

Local Author Barbara Butcher has donated a number of books and artwork from Barbados to SV2G. The books of poems were written through Barbra’s inspiration from Barbadian Artiste Adrian Compton. The books and artwork will be used by SV2g in the furture for a project in Buckinghamshire schools.

Commenting on the donation Jacqueline Roberts, Chair of SV2G said “It is a great privilege to be selected by for a donation of any kind and we are most grateful that our work within the community was highly thought of”.

Explaining the importance of the HLF support, the head of the HLF in the South East, Stuart McLeod, said: “This project will capture the untold stories of three generations of Vincentians and help to relate the experiences of those who first settled in Britain with the ones who came later or who were born here. It will also provide a wealth of information to raise awareness among the larger community of which they form a part”.
